Gouache and ink on paper.

In many ways, this was the one that started it all. After I posted a picture of an Iksar Shadow Knight to the Project 1999 subreddit, a player reached out to me inquiring about a commission. I hadn't ever really thought about it, but I thought "why not." I really enjoyed painting my old character, it could be fun to do someone else's.

So, I did. He was kind enough to not only give me plenty of detail on his character, but he also met me in the Field of Bone so I could easily grab some screen shots (a process I would heavily streamline later). As we talked through the piece via in-game /tells, I caught a spark of what would eventually become this entire project. There was so much to this game that I had missed that this guy was giving me advice on, should I keep leveling my character. I already had a curious interest in checking out some old stomping grounds from when my original character was level 31. By the end of the conversation I decided to keep the monk and explore.

And so began the journey.
