"Spellbook"

Originally nick-named for his knowledge of magicks and spells from other kingdoms, Spellbook's moniker took on another meaning during the events of the Abyss, as he would pin pages of spells that he would need for a given battle. A custom blend of ingredients would fill his pipe, and its smoke would float through the air, letting him both hallucinate and see wherever the smoke travelled. With this information, he was able to formulate and collect the pages needed to fend off his attackers. Along with a small troupe of soldiers meant to protect him while in trance, he was the sole survivor and defending mage at an important bridge. Even his staff and peg leg are made up of the remnants of his friend's staves.
