To a teenage me back when this game came out, this class seemed like hot garbage. I don't think I was the only one, either. There was very little appealing about being a trickster with low damage spells who can enhance others. I wanted to be a force - like a Goku from Dragonball or Hasanko from Outlaw Star (anyone?).
Man, did my opinion change on that. Upon returning to EverQuest via Project 1999, I was shocked to get a full understanding of...well...how people had come to fully understand the potential of this character type. Controlling monsters, enhancing players, disguising themselves for full access to almost anywhere in the game, with a range of spells that would allow them to survive nearly any situation.
In this piece, I was asked to showcase the player casually casting their favorite spells upon their favorite victim. Behind him, was his favorite pet, in his favorite zone. One thing I really came to enjoy was the creative freedom I was allowed to portray people's characters. That kind of flexibility, along with a few discovery questions, I feel really brought out something unique in the capture.
While I will probably never level up an enchanter to the level this one was, I can always enjoy the experience from a brush.
