How to describe Johnnybravo, specifically the online Streamer, wontonfui (https://www.twitch.tv/wongtonfui)...

Energetic, enthusiastic, definitely entertaining, passionate, and some might even say performative - if they didn't actually get to know him. I wasn't overly familiar with the MMORPG streamer scene, and admittedly rarely ever watch a twitch stream. So, when I learned that he was a dyed hair, online personality, I was curious to see what his online personae was versus his normal back and forth.

They were the exact. Same.

I don't mean to have this sound diminutive, but what you see is what you get. He is all of those things, but not performative. He is a performer, no doubt, and has great love for this genre, but he is anything but phony. Whether it was the initial discussion around capturing his character - named after the titular cartoon character from the 90s cartoon show - or even feedback on the progress updates, he brought the same energy to every interaction.

What I found the most genuine, was that he streams what he loves. He isn't going after some clout chase where he's one of 1,000,000 streamers trying to do Let's Plays of newly released games to an oversaturated audience. He plays what he loves, and he seems to love every minute of it.

Honestly, it was refreshing. I don't know if my opinion of him would ever change if we were to meet in person, but I have a feeling that his enthusiasm for this gaming genre and its awesome community would match every other interaction I've had with him.

Whoah mama, watch out for Johnnybravo.
